BTW, anyone else notice a shortage of "get out the vote" activities from your local Democratic Party?
GETTINGTIRED
(330 posts)Yes I noticed , unless you could get on a computer proactively seeking information there was no voting information being pushed for this election. If this trend continues 2014 is in trouble for Dems

I'm troubled that many of my colleagues DO NOT understand what is at stake in this election...both on the state level and locally....
APATHY BREEDS TEA PARTY!!!!

(45,274 posts)I couldn't participate because I had not time--worked through the weekend--but they got rained out on Saturday & continued to do lit drops yesterday.
Chippewa County--a very purple county--has a very competent and energetic chair named Al Holle, as well as a pretty good volunteer crew. I wish the whole state party were run by people like Al instead of by hacks. He's a retired teacher who seems to have taken on the chairmanship as a full-time job. I think Al spent half his time in Madison during the protests. He worked his heart out organizing buses of volunteers to canvass during the recall, running the phone bank, etc.
There is just so much difference between the attitudes of the "Rank & File" (hate that expression--it always reminds me of those pics of the masses saluting Hitler) and the Power People.
But then, in the Democratic Party these days, idealism is for the Little People.

(34,658 posts)No robocalls. But the Dems I know pay attention and vote whether they are dragged out or not.

(53,475 posts)That's about 20% of this bright red precinct. I worry that the R's did a better job of getting the vote out than the D's did.
