Russell Wilson donates 300,000 meals for COVID-19 relief

In March, Russell Wilson and his family donated one million meals to those in need due to the coronavirus pandemic in the Seattle area. Meanwhile Wilson’s mother, Tammy, helped to set up care facilities across the city as a former nurse.

Wilson was back at it again on Sunday, using a platform created by his two Super Bowl opponents as a way of continuing he and his family’s efforts to help with COVID-19 relief.

Wilson made an appearance on the broadcast of “The Match: Champions for Charity,” a charity golf game that saw Tiger Woods and Peyton Manning take on Tom Brady and Phil Mickelson, to issue a challenge to the participants. For every tee shot on the 16th hole that was within 12 feet of the cup, Wilson would donate 100,000 meals. Brady, Manning, and Mickelson all landed their tee shots within 12 feet, and so Wilson added another 300,000 meals to the million previously donated.

Adding to the spirit of the day, which featured some entertaining, light trash talking, was Wilson’s tweet directed towards Brady.
