Outbreak at Washington food plant puts halt to reopening plan

An outbreak of coronavirus cases at a food processing plant in Washington state has put a temporary halt to Clark County's plans to enter phase 2 of the state's reopening plan. According to Clark County Public Health, 38 workers at Firestone Pacific Foods in Vancouver have tested positive for COVID-19 so far.

The plant was ordered to temporarily shut down last Tuesday, according to CBS News affiliate KOIN. One worker has been hospitalized. Every employee at the facility will be tested for the coronavirus, a process that began Friday, KOIN reports.

The county's petition to enter phase 2 of reopening will be discussed next week.

So far, 21 counties in Washington have been approved to begin phase 2, CBS News affiliate KIRO reports.

tested positive over the weekend, so, no Phase 2 any time soon for us here in Chelan County!

Also one of our Superior Court judges!

The first at an assisted living facility near me, and now this, also near me. That does not bode well!

The only times I've gone out has been to the store for prescriptions. I noted everyone wearing masks. No one was being an asshole. So, at least we're giving it our best. Nothing can stop these outbreaks in confined spaces until we have testing and contact tracing on a large scale. Why isn't that happening yet?

What does tRump have to lose by saving some lives?
