The pol ad allowed to run when Pres. Obama came to Dallas was as tasteless as the one when JFK visit

I am old enough to remember the hostile full-page advertisement paid for by the “American Fact-Finding Committee” that appeared in The Dallas Morning News on Nov. 22, 1963, hinting that President Kennedy was a Communist.

I was stunned to see that nearly 50 years later history repeated itself when President Obama visited Dallas for the dedication of the Bush Library. A similar ad attacking our current chief executive appeared Thursday in your paper on page 22A.

The notion that President Obama is a Marxist is patently absurd to any intelligent person. How The News could allow such a baseless accusation to be made on one of its pages, especially in light of the embarrassing ad it ran 50 years ago, is beyond my comprehension.

I would also like to add that the term “death tax,” to which the ad refers, is a misleading term. “Estate” or “inheritance” tax applies only to estates worth more than $5 million, which means that the vast majority of Americans will be unaffected by it.

McConnell? Boehner?

The right is sure obsessed with death. Death panels, death taxes...wonder if they realize their party is dying?

Pat Boone--I got a laugh out of that. Really? Pat Boone?

Yeah, pretty tasteless ad.
