It's a must-stop for the best kolaches in Texas when travelling between DFW and Austin. The Little Czech Bakery.

And now the town is mortally wounded with no telling how many deaths. Very sad.

My prayers are with the community of West. Lets keep this thread kicked with any opportunities to help them. There are always blood drives and things like that we in Texas can help our neighbors with.

Blood center: Donors needed after West explosion

WACO, Texas — A blood center that serves Central Texas hospitals says donors are greatly needed due to the massive plant explosion that has injured more than 160 people.

Carter BloodCare said in a statement Thursday that it is sending blood to hospitals treating patients from the explosion in West, near Waco. It says blood "will be in great demand over the next two weeks" as officials work to replenish supplies used after Wednesday's incident.

A list of places to give blood is located at http://www.carterbloodcare.org.

And not to make political hay, but incidents like this tragedy provide an example of why everyone needs to be covered by universal healthcare.
