3. Teen Who Shot Himself On Local High School Campus Dies

TEMPLE (April 18, 2013)--Solomon Harris, a 15-year-old Temple High School student who shot himself in the head Tuesday on the school campus died overnight in a Temple hospital.

Brad Sheffield, spokesman for Temple Independent School District, told News 10 Harris died early Thursday morning at Scott & White Hospital.

Harris had been in extremely critical condition in ICU at Scott and White since Tuesday morning when police say he shot himself in the head while standing near the tennis courts on the high school campus.

Temple police Cpl. Christopher Wilcox said police recovered a handgun at the scene of the shooting.

Loss of life is so pointless. I hope his family at least has some understanding of why he did it. Then maybe they can grieve without questioning why it happened. I am very sorry for their loss.
