Sixteen people say they felt sick Saturday while at a baby goods store in southwest Fort Worth, and 13 were taken by ambulance to hospitals, but emergency responders found no apparent cause.
At 2:40 p.m., Fort Worth firefighters were called to buybuy BABY at 4648 SW Loop 820, just north of Hulen Mall, after a report that employees complained of lightheadedness, dizziness and nausea, said Lt. Carol Jones, a Fire Department spokeswoman.
"Our fire crews were unable to find anything or smell anything so they cleared the scene after MedStar arrived," Jones said, referring to the city-contracted ambulance. Neither firefighters nor an Atmos Energy crew found signs of carbon monoxide poisoning or a natural gas leak.
About an hour later, firefighters were called back to the store with additional complaints of the same symptoms.

(75,480 posts)to be a trigger reaction where everyone starts getting sick. It's the smell of vomit I think. This may not be what happened in the store but a possibility to think about being there would be pregnant women in the shop as well who are more prone to morning sickness.
