The man who officials say broke into and vandalized the Department of Public Safetys driver license office on North Lamar Boulevard caused severe damage to the office, as well as department vehicles, and smeared feces on the wall of the lobby, according to an arrest affidavit.
Kenneth James Vanlue, 40, was arrested and charged with criminal mischief and burglary of a building after he approached troopers, the affidavit said. He was barefooted but wearing a driver license office collared shirt with the department logo and a Department of Public Safety trooper raincoat, the document said.
About 7:30 a.m. Wednesday, DPS troopers responded to a reported burglary at the office and found the window of the front door smashed with a brake drum, the affidavit said.
Troopers found several items destroyed inside the office and the word surcharge written in feces on the wall of the lobby, the affidavit said.

Apparently the vandal is upset about the Texas Responsible Driver program with the surcharges that apply to driving while uninsured, driving with a suspended or revoked license or driving while intoxicated.

"Well, Mr. Anderson... We were able to retrieve your test results from the computer. And as I suppose you already know, YOU FAILED. God giveth, and the DMV taketh away. You mustn't f*ck with the Department of Motor Vehicles. We can make your life a living hell."
