Related: About this forumTexas Mail In Ballots are supposed to be sent out today by your County Clerk.
45 days from Election is when they told me then send them out. If you do not receive your ballot by Wednesday of next week, give your county clerk a call and see what they have to say. I'll be calling them to make sure they mailed them out and also ask them what I need to do if we don't receive the ballot. I know I can vote in person, but want to make sure I know the process so I don't get stopped from in-person voting because I was supposed to vote by mail.

(5,065 posts)I'd really like to see what signature they have from me, since it's going to be judged by non-experts. My name is long, and I either leave parts out or scrunch up my handwriting to fit it all in. A post office once refused to take my check because I use my middle name and have checks printed that way--but Texas insists that your first name be on your driver's license (and only 3 names, so I can't get them all in). I know we're supposed to get a chance to fix our mail-in ballots--but many things are supposed to happen that don't.

(5,640 posts)I have found that my clerks office seems to be very helpful. It could not hurt to give yours a call.
Good luck in voting!

(22,250 posts)I think all of ours (Tarrant) have been imaged which makes it easier for the Ballot Board.
Your County Elections office can tell you their process. Ask them their process for curing the ballot if there is an issue. I signed my envelope incorrectly (in the wrong spot) and the whole packet was returned to me with a new set of envelopes and instructions on what to do.
If you have had no difficulties voting in person with the name differences, you should not in a mail in ballot.
If you receive your ballot and do not feel there is enough time for it to be received at Elections by Nov 3, take the ballot with you and vote in person. The Election Judge will collect your ballot, check you in, confirm with Early Voting that you are voting in person and you will vote per normal process.
This process is much easier if you take that ballot with you!!! Things will go faster and the ELection Judge will be grateful.

(22,250 posts)I love USPS Informed Delivery! Anything that has been scanned in the USPS system will show up ; handy when waiting for checks, or important correspondence etc.
Since they showed up this morning we should have them by tomorrow.

(5,640 posts)Mine did not scan (it frequently does not showed scanned images for me) so when it showed up in the box I was surprised!
Sending it out today. All filled out and ready to go.
Congratulations on getting your ballot!

(22,250 posts)sometimes it will show that mail which was not imaged is scheduled to arrive.
Congratulations to you too!! Ours will go out same day also.
I need to confirm that we can track them. As a precinct chair I can track them on VAN but there may be a way for the general public to track the progress.
I'll post back here when I find out.

(13,548 posts)Filled them out today and drove them to the county election office. They had a table set up outside the offices and I was surprised at how many people were there to drop off their ballots. Showed ID and signed the register just like at a polling place and the young lady at the table deposited the sealed envelope in a collection bag.

(5,640 posts)She postmarked it while I watched and I thank her for her service.
The election office is 30 miles away and I did not feel up to driving it.
I'm going to call the election office and see if they can tell me when they get the ballot.
Congratulations on voting!
