Meanwhile...in the Republican-controlled Oklahoma legislature...

Our wonderful GOP approved without a single negative vote--a resolution reaffirming marriage as between a man and a woman, and supporting the federal Defense of Marriage Act that prohibits recognition of same-sex marriage.

The good news is, more than half the Democrats in the chamber got up and walked out instead of voting. (The bad news is that the rest of the Dems apparently supported the resolution.)

In other news, these brilliant people also failed to pass a bill that would make it illegal for adults to text while driving. Is this insanity? We have some of the highest automobile insurance rates, and texting while driving is certainly a contributor to those high rates, but they aren't going to do anything about that, because they have to waste time and taxpayer money on something foolish like extending equal rights to all citizens.

I think we need a law that crazy people can't run for office, because it seems like a lot on the right are totally nuts, and should not be trusted to make decisions for sane people.
