The Kansas City Public Schools laid down some conditions Thursday under which it may begin allowing student transfers once the district loses accreditation Jan. 1.
But conflicts with policies in neighboring districts will likely mean that few families can move until courts or lawmakers clear up unanswered questions.

(29,669 posts)the mayor's office take over for the school board, as it is done in some cities. As of this time I'm not sure how I feel about that.
I think the worst case scenario would be a state takeover.

(96,793 posts)you can easily see why transferring the students to suburban districts is a BAD idea. It's sending them into a lion's den of racism and bigotry.

(29,669 posts)Some of the comments make me wonder if the people leaving them even live in the area. For example, we have a kook who writes LTTEs to my local newspaper every single week and he doesn't live in the area but he always makes offhand comments "because of something he read online".
I wonder how many of the comments are even made by people who will be affected.
