1,192 acres on track to join huge Rocky Creek Conservation Area in Shannon County
There soon could be some more land for the public to explore along the Jacks Fork River.
On Friday, the Missouri Conservation Commission approved the acquisition of 1,192 acres in Shannon County as an addition to Rocky Creek Conservation Area.
The conservation department is now working to close on the property, according to Deputy Director Jennifer Battson Warren. She declined to say how much MDC will pay for the land until after the sale closes.
"This particular tract has some footage on the Jacks Fork and Allen Branch," Battson Warren said. "It has a lot of natural heritage value."
