Mary Sanchez made a great point about the Rush bust

She's a writer for The Star. On KC Week in Review, she said the reason the republicans locked the doors and made the Rush HOF induction private was because they knew there would be protesters who would yell things at Rush and HE WOULD HAVE YELLED BACK. And she said what Rush yelled back would have been ugly and created controversy. That would have been a national story and brought all kinds of negative publicity on Missouri.

Makes sense to me.

I don't think there's enough marble to make the life-size statue of Rush ...

2. And those idiots at the ceremony didn't create a controversy and embarrassment for Missouri?

I'd say they did. Big time. When common sense arrives, I wonder how long that bust will still have its place of (dis)honor?

Errrrr I mean his "wife" there for this so called ceremony? I hope that we can begin a movement to have this piece of trash removed from the Capitol building as soon as possible.

She may have been in the audience.

I did hear they were separated though so maybe she didn't come.

the other night and a few girls were just gushing about how wonderful it was that Rush was chosen.

They frighten me.

Otherwise, I'd agree-protesters would yell and he'd yell back. I knew of a group that was ready to go to Jeff City for the induction. Surprisingly, one of the people the most upset was actually a reported "Tea Party" member. His reason? Because he felt that it was a waste of time and money for the hoopla of an induction.

It's changed since the days of real students looking for real reporting experience. Now they all want to directly work on a substandard cable news channel.

I graduated from high school with someone who majored in broadcast journalism at MU. She was on the station as part of her internship. Times have really changed.
