(25,699 posts)Step one. Get your meat - chicken, fish, beef, venison, shoes, whatever you have.
Step two. put the meat to simmer in a mix of vinegar and soy sauce. Rice vinegar works best of course, but cider does well in a pinch.
Step three thought five. Keep simmering that meat until your neighborhood smells like soy and vinegar.
Step four. Serve over rice. The meat literally melts in your mouth. As do bones, if you left them in the meat.

now from what I'm told it wasn't invented in Minnesota but it is being kept alive here, most Norwegians who actually live in Norway would be happy to allow its memory to fade or so I'm told

2. We lived there when we were young marrieds for three years.
3. Global warming
4. It is the last major metro area in this country where living costs are still reasonable.
5. Major metro areas are great places to retire: lots to do and lots of services for older people.
6. After living in the Midwest (Wisconsin and Minnesota) all of our lives, we will feel comfortable with the people as opposed to moving to another area and maybe not feeling like we fit in.
7. Easy to get a flight to SFO to visit our son and his family.
8. Easy to get a flight to France to visit our other daughter.
What's not to like?

(53,012 posts)I lived south for 20 years, first in Austin, TX and then in South Florida. I grew up here and moved back by choice, and I couldn't be happier with my decision.
