Iowans: Gov. You know I ain't seen no...

Gov. B.: [cutting them off; getting angry] Did you notice a sign out in front of my house that said "Health Care for Iowans"?

Iowans: [pause] No. I didn't.

Gov. B.: You know WHY you didn't see that sign?

Iowans: Why?

Gov.B: 'Cause it ain't there, 'cause Health care for Iowans ain't my fucking business, that's why!

Looks like this maneuver will probably sink any medicaid expansion, so thanks to the dumb fucking republicans we can pay the tax and get nothing for it.

2 republicans voted against the bill.
So if I understand this correctly, the bill must go to a conference committee so both houses agree on one bill -
then I think it gets voted on by both houses again and if passed (I hope not), it can be signed by the governor. But it also must be signed off on by HHS and my guess is that it won't.

The Branstad bill really stinks - participants must pay (that is why they don't have health insurance now) and a major portion of the cost comes by taking money from county treasuries plus many other things.

It is what you would expect from Branstad, kick the poor while they are down and give to the rich.
