D'oh.

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa- Forget the obvious choices.

The Iowa Republican candidate for the U.S. Senate in 2014 won't be Rep. Steve King, Lt. Gov. Kim Reynolds or state Secretary of Ag Bill Northey, according to a top Iowa GOP operative.

Doug Gross, a former top aide to Gov. Terry Branstad, party leader and candidate for governor in 2002, doubts any of those three top GOP officials will seek the nomination for the seat held by Sen. Tom Harkin.

he has a nearly totally safe seat (however, I believe he can be beaten) so he can be a crazy fucker barf up all that tea bagger horse shit.
Matt Schultz seems to think he is well loved and a real mover. He would be about next in line in that rogue's gallery you post.

3. Yeah, I think the threat of losing during the last election was enough for him.

A senate run would be too much for him to endure.
