(16,616 posts)1. There was a shooting.
Multiple people injured after shooting near Daytona Beach boardwalk

Actually, I changed "double-shooting" because maybe more were hurt. Most of the headlines say 2 people shot but another headline I saw says 5. Also, now they are saying no suspect in custody.
EDIT: This story has more text and more substance:

Police were initially in the beachside area helping to deal with the crowds before that shooting took place.
The Volusia County Sheriffs Office was initially called in Saturday night to help the Daytona Beach Police out in dealing with massive weekend crowds.
However, later in the night, deputies were helping the police investigate a shooting at the 7-Eleven at 35 S Atlantic Ave.
Later, that night, they found themselves helping the police department investigate a shooting.
Daytona Beach police confirmed that at least two people were shot. Police say their injuries were not life-threatening, saying the people were treated and released.
While it was initially reported that a suspect was in custody, that is not the case and the investigation is still ongoing.

Sigh. I really do not want us to "go back to normal." Normal sucked.
