I think someone is dicking around with the Coronavirus numbers in my county.

We went from numbers that were steadily increasing, to a high of ten new cases a couple of days ago. And then I recorded 374 total cases last night, and today the number is 373. Is someone trying to give De Santis numbers to support his political objectives?

They can start with Seminole County. Why did the number drop by 1 between 4/28 and 4/29?

Especially with a difference of one case.

My local newspaper, The Santa Fe New Mexican, devotes most of an entire page every day to what's going on in this state with the Coronavirus. They will note things like: A case that was attributed to Santa Fe County was really a man in Bernalillo County, or something like that.

If it went from 374 to, say, 310, you would want to know what was going on, but 374 to 373? Not really a big deal. They are not covering up one case.

Trying to make the numbers look better so they can open up again. Seems counter productive too me.

that is characteristic of Central Florida. They will lie, bully and cheat to get their way.

I think they are seriously hiding cases/deaths here.

and keep in mind that there's an inclination to not count anyone who hasn't been tested and gotten a positive result, the real number is roughly the excess deaths over the normal number of deaths. I may be naive, but that's not something that can easily be covered over. Certainly not in anything but the short run. States all have bureaus of vital statistics, and those people are going to care a lot about the raw numbers.

It's also true that we are in the very early stages, really, of this thing, so of course there's a lot of confusion out there.
