phone number to call that makes her listen to WAY MORE recorded things and key in LOTS MORE STUFF before she gets the FUCKING BUSY SIGNAL!
The Repukes will pay for this. BIGLY, AND LONGLY.
ON EDIT-and now they will jerk her around SEVEN DAYS a week! How about that?
UPDATE:
DeSantis also said state officials installed 72 additional computer servers over the weekend and trained hundreds of state workers to help process unemployment claims as the online system simply has been unable to keep up with an unprecedented demand.
"We were in a situation where people have lost their jobs. They're looking for relief and they're having a lot of difficulty," the governor said. "Some people were on the site. It was timing out. You'd go hours and hours upon end. It was just totally unacceptable."
He said the system can now handle up to 120,000 simultaneous connections by people filing claims.
"Recently we've been in the 40,000 to 60,000 connection range," he said. "There was a redundancy built in so that if the system went down the backup would take hold and people could still use it. It turns out that that redundancy, the backup, was never actually connected to the system. Last night they were able to actually connect the backup to the system." (emphasis supplied)
He said 62,000 people had submitted claims by 10 p.m. Sunday when the site went down for maintenance. That number was up from 17,000 the previous week.
THE THING IS, YOU CANNOT GET ON THE SYSTEM AND FILE A CLAIM WITHOUT A PERSONAL IDENTIFICATION NUMBER. IF THE ACCOUNT IS LOCKED YOU HAVE TO TALK TO A PERSON TO GET A PIN. THEY NEVER ANSWER.

(24,365 posts)And this was back in 2009.
Maybe one day I'll type it all out, but suffice to say, my claim was denied by a firm who did payroll services for a 501(c)3 I worked for, they did not hire me, I never went to their office and applied for diddly, and yet they had one of their lackeys get on an arbitration conference call and fucking lie, AND the dipshit with the state took their side!
I love this state, but my affection has nothing to do with the utter fucking morons elected and staffed to run it.
The fact that this current situation is and will continue to be a master class in Clusterfuckedness comes as no surprise.

(29,556 posts)The funny part is I walked out of a state job I'd been at for years with no notice at 8:15 on a Tuesday morning. Nonetheless, my reasons for leaving were found sufficient. I went on a state pension the month after I left, so my U.C. (reduced by my state pension) lasted for over two years because the payments were so small. I called it the trifecta-unemployment, a modest state pension and Social Security. The benefits had not run out by the time I found another job.

(29,704 posts)designed the system to work just as it is; as in, it doesn't work. Good Luck.

(17,530 posts)That DeSantis and his red gang knows that if Florida gives your wife free money, she will never want to go back to work..... If you are frustrated long enough perhaps you will give up.

(10,303 posts)If they are Repuke, I'd pester the heck out of them in asking for them to intercede on your behalf. Nicely and respectfully of course. Especially if they're incumbents who voted for this. Doesn't matter who you voted for, they (the elected representatives) work for you.

(23,091 posts)This is happening exactly as planned to limit unemployment claims. If you can't get through your case isn't counted and they don't have to send you money. It's all win-win as far as these people killing repubs are concerned.
