(2,849 posts)We did get our mail in ballots for the primary and sent them in. They were counted without any issue. If they don't send them soon, we'll just go vote early in person.

(1,904 posts)Michigan, for example, won't start mailing out ballots until the end of next week. Not sure when your state does.

(19,264 posts)In Virginia early voting started today and the first of the ballots are going into the mail today it likely will take a week or more before all the ballots are mailed out.

(846 posts)Scott shortened the time, no surprise. And you will not get your mail-in ballot until 9 days prior to the election.

(5,190 posts)our ballots go out in late September. I'm in Collier. Also boxes are being put outside of polling places to collect them for counting. Think the date for early voting is Oct. 23rd. So you can avoid the mail if you want to.
A good DUer posted this just now!

(7,520 posts)State law requires that Supervisors of Elections must start sending out ballots between 33 and 40 days before the election. After that, vote by mail requests can be accepted until 10 days before the election (October 24). Ballots for requests received after the first ballots are sent and before the last day requests can be received must be sent out within 2 days. Each county must offer at least 8 days of early voting between October 19 and November 1.
