JUST IN: Tropical storm WATCH upgraded to Tropical Storm WARNING for DC and Balt,

all areas east of Loudoun & Frederick counties. Though I-95 corridor in warning area & winds may top 40 mph, higher winds to 60 mph forecast near Bay and Delmarva. Heavy rains EVERYWHERE.

Three to six inches of potentially flooding rain are predicted along with tropical-storm-force wind gusts, especially east of Washington.

Tropical Storm Isaias is picking up speed and set to crash ashore near the South Carolina-North Carolina border Monday night. As it does so, tropical moisture will surge northward through the Washington region, setting the stage for a very heavy rain event with areas of significant flooding through Tuesday night.

Widespread rainfall of 3 to 6 inches is predicted, with isolated totals up to 8 inches. The heaviest rain is expected between predawn Tuesday and the midafternoon hours, although intermittent showers and storms are expected to begin Monday afternoon and evening.

As Isaias makes its closest approach between the morning and midafternoon hours on Tuesday, very strong winds are also expected along and especially east of the Interstate 95 corridor, prompting a tropical storm warning for the Washington-to-Baltimore corridor, including all areas east of Loudoun and Frederick counties.'>>>

Had a pre-storm last night in Calvert County (MD,) moving a chair close to the house. Neighbor's gardens will take care of themselves.
