It's supposed to be 95 degrees in the East Bay tomorrow in the coastal areas, and we're under a Red Flag warning until Wednesday morning.

But after yesterday's inferno, I'm just grateful I'll be able to sleep tonight!

Last night was so damn last night that, I swear, I tossed and turned all night.

Just the mid-80's. However, in the East Bay, the sky is a creepy yellow color. Also, it's not as windy as they were predicting thus far, which I understand was the main reason for the Red Flag warnings in the area.

I don't smell smoke in the air, but it does seem strange outside with this yellow tint.

In any event, I'm just thankful it's not too hot, and I do hope the fires die down. Take care all!

Warm (not hot) temps but the sky is dirty yellow

You're right-- no smell but I keep track on the hourly pollution index and right now I'm at 115

In case you wish to keep tabs on that, go to:

Looking out our windows, it seems like Armageddon. It is almost dark, and the sky is orange.

I've never seen anything like this anywhere in the world! Yipes!

Yet the AQI is only 78 and the temp is 70-- I woke up late because it was so dark

But, I'm glad to say, the humidity is 100%

Just read this from our newspaper:

"Meanwhile, smoke from wildfires elsewhere mixed with a thick marine layer blocking the sun, which turned the sky a
doomsday orange throughout Marin and the Bay Area."

Its one thing to have 100+ during the day.... but to not recover at night is just too much.

Suggest you order (for the next time) a reversible window fan from Amazon.

I got one for around $50 last year. It is two fans, and they can each be made to spin in either direction (in, as a fan; and out, as an exhaust). When I wasn't in our bedroom during the day today, I put it in the window in the exhaust mode to draw out the heat until it started getting dark. Now I have it on the table as a twin fan.

Works reasonably well for a room.

Exhaust fans are important for getting that heat out.

While it has cooled down considerably, Tuesday's forecast is 102.

Supposedly Wednesday it will be 81.

I went to college at Sonoma State.

The breeze has come up over here and that is cooling things some. Bad for the fires though.

I have A/C but it's very old and ready to conk out any moment. So I try not to use it much but the last few days I didn't even care!

It's kind of funny that we're all communicating at 2:40 am-- it's hard to sleep when it's hot

I didn't think I'd get any responses when I first posted (figured everyone would be asleep)

Because the weekend was such a scorcher, yesterday was a relief, I'm coastal so I'm not going to state the temperature, it's all in what you get used to, temperature should be inching back up here this week, and later in the day the wind will shift from onshore to offshore, but as of a half hour ago we had some drizzle, what a delight

Sunday was brutal-110° in the OC, didn’t get below 85° all night. So glad I can open doors at night again. We were getting tired of the AC running 24/7.

THIS is why I loathe summer-- my hope is that the rest of September will be manageable.
And that we receive at least a normal amount of rain.
