The Meyers fire is near enough I could see flames night before last, but air attack was on it all afternoon yesterday, no pillars of smoke today. The big event is the fire moving toward Guerneville.
In the 40 years I've lived here I haven't seen rain in Aug. We got 2 days of thunderstorms and lightning.

(83 posts)Thanks for posting the info links. I'm in Sonoma county near Penngrove, (between Petaluma and Rohnert Park.) Semi rural area.
I grew up in Marin, and have never seen anything like the recent storms. They rivaled the thunderstorms in Ohio, when I lived there.
These fires are horrific. Stay safe.

Did you see Gavin on the convention last night? It looked like he may have been in Armstrong Woods. Its such a beautiful place, Im so sad to see this.
