Little Rock mayor issues mask order. Will the governor let it stand?

June 25, 2020 6:25 pm

Little Rock Mayor Frank Scott Jr. finally issued his promised executive order this evening requiring people in Little Rock to wear face coverings when they cannot maintain sufficient distance between others.

His order, promised since last week, contends it does not contradict the governor’s emergency declaration and his ensuing orders and state directives. That is an open question. He insists it is legal.

The governor said today that while he REALLY wants people to wear masks, he refuses to mandate it statewide, except in some limited circumstances, such as restaurant staff and customers before eating and drinking. Scott’s order seems to go farther. It says:

get the numbers down. I haven't been to a store in so long, I don't know how many people are using masks/face covers now, but I hear people talk about seeing most people with bare faces. These new numbers of cases are scaring me.

Germ-X and keep my distance. If the parking lot is too full I try later on. I have had jerks try to cough on me, but I keep an eye on the ones who go backwards in the aisles and notice a a coming up the wrong way and let out a cough. I had already taken a full long step backwards.

This crap may stay with us a very long time. I live by myself so I have to figure out ways to handle things.

Take care

had to venture into a store in over 3 months.

I have been able to arrange my hours at work so that by the time I get there, the guys have already left to go out to the job-site. We have hardly any walk in customers at all. I have plexi-glass in the opening of the pass through window in my office, and no one enters my office but me. To my knowledge, I have had no contact with anyone who has tested positive.

I use public transportation to get to work, but we have a demand bus available which picks me up at home and takes me directly to work. The bus is never at full capacity, so I can distance myself from other passengers. Some wear masks, some don't. I keep clean masks, hand sanitizer and gloves with me at all times.

The only people I have interacted with socially are family members who are being as careful as I am. Those who don't work from home have jobs where they don't have to be in contact with the public. We have decided that this is going to be around for a long time and we have to find a way to protect ourselves. I don't know if we will ever get back to life as we knew it.

they start adding copper particles in the mask material. The UV-C lamps will end up being every where. And all this will help the people from catching Covid but also colds and flu.

Tear pop some toilet paper into small pieces and make sure the mask will attract the pieces.
