CBS Has Cancelled The Following Comedy SitComs & Shows With A Message.....

Man With a Plan, Carol's Second Act, Broke, and God Friended Me.

These were all wholesome family type shows that are needed during this time of pandemics and protests. I don't know what those people at CBS are thinking.

I suppose they will put on more violent cop shows or stupid reality and game shows for us as replacements. A lot of the new shows that TV is airing are made to appeal to just the lowest common denominator of Americans.

I've given up watching premiers of new shows - because I get into them and then they are cancelled just as they are hitting their stride.

I've never heard of any of them so I can't comment about their content or quality.

That was a huge part of the problem with that bullshit show.

Of course, the problem starts with the word “atheist” itself, which is a word devised by theists to describe people who are not theists. Imagine if we defined other aspects of the human condition in such a way. Someone who does not collect stamps would be referred to as an “aphilatelic.” A person who does not collect coins would be called an “anumismatic.”

Gee. Those two terms alone cover 98% of humanity. Yet imagine using those terms to describe people not for what they are, but what they are not!

Perhaps we should start calling theists what they really are: arationalists.

I watched all of them at least once and found them to be very tired rehashings of worn out sit-com themes.

They simply were not funny.

I saw several episodes of Man With A Plan, after CBS's Sunday Night Movies (love the movies, but that's another story). Man With A Plan is painfully unfunny, an old school manchild married to a long-suffering wife. I didn't like Everyone Loves Raymond; I don't like Man With A Plan.

On the other hand, I enjoyed God Friended Me. As mentioned above, the main character is an atheist, or perhaps an agnostic - I'm not sure of the distinction for this fictional character. Other characters are believers, but all characters are treated fairly for the beliefs or lack thereof. And I enjoyed having a show without car chases and hails of bullets!

God friended me. Didn’t care for man with a plan or broke. Did kind of like carol’s second act, but won’t miss it.

Netflix, Hulu, Amazon, HBO, Apple, etc. give people much better stuff to watch (and are drawing talent away from the banality of network control). There's no "must-see" programming on broadcast anymore.

Other than that CBS usually has had pretty mediocre offerings. Person of Interest and Elementary were good and had good runs.

I'm still mad they cancelled Limitless after one season..

Same with Fox and Alcatraz.
