I had been reading in bed this morning (Michael Cohen's book, Disloyal: A Memoir: The True Story of the Former Personal Attorney to President Donald J. Trump) when I got up to refill my coffee. Noticed this guy on my 17th floor window and couldn't resist getting a shot to show flamin lib.
He was slowly crawling up the window and eventually out of sight. I hope he doesn't try to jump off the building!

(14,559 posts)It's flattering to have someone think of me - - - even if it's a bug that made them do it!
I wouldn't worry too much about him falling. They can fly really well and besides the physics of a low mass body and atmospheric resistance result in a low terminal velocity and there isn't enough inertia to damage something this small. Sorry, probably more than you want to know . . .

(7,527 posts)Even if it somehow fell all the way to the ground without deploying wings to catch the air and slow itself, the mass of an insect isn't enough to cause it to impact with enough force to cause damage. Especially with its organic exoskeleton armor. It would be like a human clad in padded metal plating falling a great distance to the low-gravity surface of the moon.
