Not long ago I heard on the news that Jupiter would be very close to earth and it was a chance to see it clearly.

I went outside and it was brilliant 🙂

That is just breathtaking.

What is the bright star/planet between the Moon and Jupiter? I saw it tonight when I went out to see the Moon.

Thank you for sharing!

Some years ago my husband and I were given a telescope. We set it up and aimed it at Jupiter. And felt like Galileo. There were those four moons, perfectly lined up, two on each side. They were so perfectly aligned that it was as if someone had slapped a picture of them on our telescope. But nope, it was the real thing.

I love astronomy.

I have the good fortune to have My Son The Astronomer (he's in a PhD program in astronomy at George Mason University) who is readily available to ask my many questions on this topic. And, he's wonderfully patient with his old mom. I have never once heard him roll his eyes at me, no matter how dumb the question, or how many times I've already asked it.
