Related: About this forum******announcing the theme for the april contest********
after a very close vote the theme for the april contest has been decided
It will be
******* After Dark*******
these will be any photo taken after the end of twilight. flash is ok however it must be obvious in the photo that the picture was taken after dark. I will be the sole judge of wether its obvious the photo was taken after dark
submisisons will be accepted starting immediatley and will close april 11th or when 30 have been submitted
This will be a blind submission contest. I hope to run the preliminaries around the weekend of april 13th although that may end up being pushed back a day or so since ill be out of town most of that week.
to submit a photo send me a private message.
like usual photo sizes will will be restricted to 800 pixels in the longest dimension
no frames around the photo please.

will I be advised of such,
and/or allowed to submit another one?
"after dark" is a rather confusing distinction -
like would a sunrise in it's early stages be allowable (before the sun actually is visible?)
Best answer for the rest of the participants would be a response to the question
- do we get a second chance. . . ?

(5,113 posts)a sunrise would be a no go since its really not before twilight
figure 45 minutes or so before sunrise or after sunset would be what i would consider "after dark" (timing will depend on your lattitude)
Im really looking for shots taken at night.

I was going through my photos taken by myself, and discovered a unique image not taken by myself
Is being the photographer of the submitted image a condition of these contests?

But I'm gonna post this pic I found that I did not take in the main page of the Photography group
It is indeed unique!
And suits the "After Dark" theme perfectly!

and scrolled through over 7,000 pix till I found it (use the thumbnail option)
do a search thing for images with .jpg in the title.
Take ya awhile to find it, but it's an interesting journey -
you'll find lots of pix ya completely forgot about.
