I was watching my mother do this at breakfast (she's 90), and it occurred to me that there are probably people who no longer drink the milk from the bowl because they think it is somehow un-adult. Heck, I had one correspondent on the 'Net who was amazed that I still ate Sugar Frosted Flakes because it was "kid's cereal."
I guess, though, some of us here would only drink it if it were bacon-flavored...

(17,066 posts)I used to drink over a quart a day, but had to cut back thanks to the diabetes. I refuse to cut it out completely, though, even though the doctor has suggested it.

(72,300 posts)I'm gonna continue to drink milk, eat cheese and enjoy no sugar added ice cream in moderation. While I enjoy roasted chicken and cold slaw but I want more.

(58,440 posts)Seems like the right thing to do. It's the only milk I use, anyway, so it's best if I drink it rather than toss it.

And they have made panna cotta and boozy shakes out of it too. Never tried it, but have had their Tristar Strawberry milk, and it was soo intensely flavored, it was amazing.

(5,364 posts)I like lots of cereals, but dry, but never liked the taste or consistency of milk. I can only drink it ice ice cold and hold my breath ( so I don't taste it )

(39,961 posts)I just drink the milk. Every day. It does a body good, particularly if you are doing an activity that burns your muscles.
You want breakfast? Grits are where it's at. Grits with cheese and a dash of Tabasco is decadence on a plate

(70,497 posts)2- for 30-40 yrs I ate cereal DRY.
3- Now that I'm old, gap-toothed, undergoing dental work, I needed moisturizer/lubricant (milk) on the cereal, for sogginess.
But I only use it for sogginess, not liquid left over.

(3,275 posts)Of course I also still eat Apple Jacks cereal so I can hardly be called an adult even though I am over thirty. Bacon flavored milk sounds awful to me.

(66,096 posts)My cereal is a high-fiber flake variety with a selection of nuts; almonds and other things. Can't do the Frosted Flakes anymore. Got my health to look after.
But I drink every drop when the cereal is gone...

Before him a cat adopted us. I used to share my milk with her. If I took too long to do so she would occasionally get on the table and do a face plant in the bowl as I was eating. She didn't do that too often but every time she did I got the message.
We got the dog after the cat died. dogs have a different set of etiquette, he just waits with a look on his face.
I can still hear my mom saying "that's so uncouth!" when I drink the milk. the animals never seem to mind.
