Game of Thrones 3.5 "Kissed by Fire" (spoilers)

Writer: Bryan Cogman
Director: Alex Graves
Runtime: Unknown

Synopsis: The Hound is judged by the gods; Jaime is judged by men. Jon proves himself; Robb is betrayed. Tyrion learns the cost of weddings.

Should be an interesting episode - I wonder if they'll show what happens with Beric Dondarrion & Thoros of Myr? It's pretty important in regards to the end of the third book.

Questions: How did the little girl get deformed? She almost looks like she had reptile skin. (Freaky mother keeping the stillborn boys in formaldehyde.)

What is up with all that God of Light magic that keeps bringing the dead back to life?

Why is the Diana Rigg character so short with Peter Dinklage? That is weird. You would think she would have done better due diligence.

Jaime's story is getting more interesting.

Who were the two boys that were killed in the beginning?

Shireen had a bout of Greyscale when she was much younger, deforming her face. Greyscale is kind of a fantasy leprosy, but much worse.

The two boys were Kevan Lannister's (Tywin's brother) sons. One may not have been.

was definitely not in the books. Edric was actually the name of one of Robert Baratheon's bastard children, too.

Not sure about Diana Rigg - she's generally pretty short with everybody, which is why her nickname is The Queen of Thorns - be careful, or you'll get pricked. I suspect she knew what she was going to offer in terms of money for the wedding ahead of time - she just wanted to see if she could get him to settle for less.

Yes, the bathtub scene is a big change-up in terms of perception of Jamie "the Kingslayer" I thought Nikolaj Coster-Waldau did really well with that scene.

In the books, Loras is actually the 3rd son of Mace Tyrrell and the heir to Highgarden is Willis (who suffered a crippling injury in a joust as a young man, I think, is not able to walk, or not able to walk well)

I think Tywin proposed to wed Cersei to Oberyn Martell of Dorne (The Red Viper - the man who injured Willis Tyrell years ago in that tourney)

But, Tyrion being made to marry Sansa was right out of the book.

hasn't been written out completely. I certainly want to see
The Martell vs. Clegane
duel on TV.

Meera & Jojen Reed, Thoros of Myr and Lord Beric, Selyse & Shireen Baratheon, Grey Worm, "Boy", etc that adding in the Dornish would have left non-book readers confused.

Plus, I think the Dornish will be introduced next year for budgetary reasons. Though, they really only need a few extras to look like knights, plus Oberyn Martell and his paramour Ellaria Sand. They'll likely expand Martell's role to make viewer's sympathize with him and like him.

I really hope the duel is done nearly word for word - I think it may be my favorite scene of the entire series. And, I hope they keep his intro when he meets Tyrion relatively intact. (How many Dornishmen does it take to start a war?)

Jamie not taking the milk of the poppy, and his confession.

Jon Snow does know something.

Lord Tywin's taking his children down a peg. Cersi is pissed.

Brother's with out banners. That fellow who didn't die. Arya not afraid to kill the hound herself.

and correct me if I'm wrong but isn't Gendry, Robert's bastard son? He seem to have more honor that most men.

Really good ep.

Gendry is one of Robert's bastard children.

I thought for sure that they would have the duel with the Hound and Lord Beric that would end with Beric dying. Then, at the end of the episode, they'd have Lord Beric come back into the room, seeming to be alive & well. However, they did it all in one extended scene.

Lord Beric Dondarrion was a handsome young knight that made Jeyne Poole swoon (Sansa's handmaid) at the Hand's Tourney in book one. (Sansa was swooning over Ser Loras, who gave her a red rose when ever other woman got a white one from him.)

When Ned Stark was sitting the Iron Throne as Hand, a farmer came in to say that the Mountain and his men had ravaged their village, and Ned gave the order for 100 men, led by Lord Beric, plus 20 Stark household guards, to go to arrest the Mountain and bring him to face the King's Justice. Thoros went with them as well (Thoros won the melee in the tourney with the flaming sword.) The Mountain ambushed them, though, and routed Beric and his men, with Thoros raising Beric from the dead after the battle and the handful remaining becoming the Brotherhood without Banners.
