24. I learned some through my college courses.

We had to have a foreign language and Spanish was always full. And since something called Germish is spoken is parts of Missouri, including mine, I had a little upper hand in the classes.

Now that I am in SE AZ, I'm taking crash courses in Spanish.

26. I took three years in high school, and two in college.

All with an eye to getting stationed in Germany when I joined the Army. Which is exactly what happened.

I lived there for two years, and loved every minute of it. My German came in handy when making friends with the locals.

There was many trips through the school. However, my participation and organizing most of the anti-war and anti-bush rallies cause me to find that I was not able to get a Passport. It took two years to get it cleared up.
