They want to charge me huge money to "glaze" my hair after they color it. I went online and found some redkin clear glazes.
Is there any reason I can't do this myself?
Also, online, the redkin site recommends dry hair, and of course, they put it on my wet hair.
Please advise.
Thanks.

(37,990 posts)It wears off after about two weeks. It's nice stuff but not necessary. It's applied via heat but I've never known dry hair to be mandatory to the process. The point is to get it into the structure of the hair and wet hair and heat = an open cuticle.
Buy the take-home stuff. You'll be just as pleased.

(4,750 posts)You will need the processing solution, too. You mix them in equal amounts (instructions on processing solution bottle). I used Redken Shades for the glaze and solution; found both online. Unfortunately, I had to buy a liter bottle of the processing solution.
I don't remember what site I bought them on, but I found them by googling. You could ask a stylist to get some for you if you have trouble finding what you need.

(12,008 posts)If you want your hair shorter than that, you can spend anywhere from 10 to 100 dollars on some clippers that will last you a few years.
That's my advice. Hair already comes with colour as part of it. You don't have to add it later.
