This morning, I took a cab to my doctor's appointment. Running late, I grabbed a bunch of cash from my bedroom
in several "piles" and shoved them into my pocket.
.
.
Getting to the hospital, I fumbled in my pocket and pulled out money to pay the driver.
.
.
Later, Kali (whose phone number I had used for a contact number) emailed me and said the driver had found
something valuable and was back at the hospital -- if I could describe it, she would give it to me.
.
The only thing I could think of was that I had pulled out a wad of cash accidentally while reaching for the fare, but

.
Sure enough, eventually I connected with the driver...

Take THAT, those of you with dark and dismal Hobbesian views of human nature. She could have very easily
just pocketed it -- how would I know?
.
.
.
I gave her $10 and told her how much she had done besides just returning money. I'm wishing now that I
had given her more.

I think we all want to do the right thing, but circumstances sometimes prevent us from doing so. We've all probably done things that we are not proud of...the fact that we are not proud of those deeds is a clue to the better nature of most people.
