NASA rovers accidentally draw penis on Mars - picture

Published Wednesday, Apr 24 2013, 11:25am EDT | By Kieran Watkins

NASA's Mars rovers have seemingly drawn a large penis on the famous Red Planet by accident.

Launched nine years ago at a cost of $800 million (£520m), two Mars Exploration Rovers named Spirit and Opportunity were sent to Mars in the hope of finding signs of water erosion and even life.

The twin exploration vehicles have so far traveled more than 10km across the planet.

It is believed that the penis mistakenly surfaced from the rovers spinning in circles to get a feel for the terrain.
