on the face of it, it's pretty bad, I admit, but I don't know if the kitties would be critical or not.

Defense lawyers have to defend a lot of scummy people---doesn't absolutely mean they're scum themselves, though some are.

And about the donation... actually, $4,000. bux over four years is not that much. And at least he wasn't donating to any repukes (assumption, there....article doesn't say who else he donates to)
