She's coming to Durham, NC on Mother's Day to do her 90 minute Q & A appearance and I'm beginning to panic!
I have NO idea what I'm going to ask her!!
I've adored her all my life and I already know pretty much everything there is to know about her.
I'm opening it up to suggestions...
What would YOU ask her if you had the chance?

(68,644 posts)I have to wonder if she would pick Mary Tyler Moore and Bob Newhart and Andy Griffith, like I would.
Of course, I'd pick her shows, too.

(46,682 posts)Years ago when she had a comeback on Broadway, I went to see her and fell asleep during the play. There was no way she could have missed me. I was in the front row center balcony of a small theater. I had gotten a kitchen pass from the hubby to visit New York with a girlfriend because we all hoped that a short vacation was all I needed to snap out of some physical symptoms that I couldn't shake. Well, I would later learn that I was a chronic hypoglycemic. My health issues were part of a saga with the HMO industry, which left me on my own to work out health problems caused by a case of malpractice. It was a long journey back, but I'm almost back to normal.
One of the things I regret the most about those early years is falling asleep in that play. It's not just because I didn't get a chance to see her perform, but because the show closed down abruptly soon afterwards and I always wondered if I sent the wrong message to some critic who might have given it bad reviews.
Tell her she was one of the joys of my life and I regret I couldn't pay her the proper respect. Thanks.

I blame drugs. Well, not drugs... but the WRONG drugs. Hash and red wine.

I did meet Jerry before the show. We were the only two people out at the concession stands just prior
to the show. We were both getting bratwurst sandwiches. He looked at me and said, "These things
are GREAT!!!!!" (They were.)

I had no idea who the wild-eyed, wild-haired American guy was until I saw him onstage.

(46,682 posts)But it wasn't a drug induced black-out. It was stress-related. I was young and about three years into my work years in Orlando, feeling completely unaccomplished by what I was doing for a living. The music took me so inward, emotionally, that the next thing I knew the concert was over!
I'm like, what the hell!

In a public setting you may want to change "f**k" to "screw".

Some of the happiest moments of my childhood were watching her show. There's a commercial on late at night every once on a while for DVD's of TCBS and I crack up just watching that. I'll get them eventually.
Carol, Harvey, Tim and Vickie are as important a part of my being me as some of my family. Maybe more than some.
