1. Just heard...Terribly sad news. Fortunate to have seen him on 3 occasions in the 70's.

I really hate quoting an Indiana Jones sequel, but whoever wrote that line got it down better than I would have done.

Did not want to say RIP about Richie Havens for a long, long time. He was an artist, a humanitarian, a gentleman and a humble person. Last saw him in '99 at Bethel. He lit up the stage. He was tremendous. He will be so very missed.
