The really good commercials can be well thought out, though I guess they're rare.

I wish all women could be wonderful mothers.
We are taught to respect our mothers, so that brings a guilt trip to the children who had bad mothers.
It's a day we wish would end quickly, each year. Sorry Peg. Reality isn't always pretty.

My own mother is hardly a paragon of inspired motherhood. I basically learned how to raise my daughters by doing pretty much the opposite of what had been done to me...

Like most of us, you have covered your pain very well.
In my many years of observing human nature ... the professionals (Doctors, Nurses, Social Workers) all/most came to their profession through the need of self help or because someone dear to them needed help. We are like that. Thus my choice to study psychology. Your choice to become a Nurse. We could have become ballerinas.
