Over-priced greasy low quality food. The false pretension is strong in this one. Cloth napkins and plastic plates. The worst frozen-processed sauerkraut balls ever (accompanied by some kind of white dressing in a tiny plastic cup- wtf?). Bag-o-salad in metal doggie dishes accompanied by dressing in tiny plastic cups. Barbeque sauce was mostly ketchup. Undercooked linguine drowning in oil accompanied but the tiniest chicken breast I've ever seen. French dip (supposedly prime rib, which is supposedly a specialty, mostly fat - yuk) with a couple burnt bits of onion and what was supposed to be swiss cheese on a chintzy untoasted white bun with the smallest half dish of cole slaw I've ever seen for $11. On the positive side the dinner rolls were good.
Don't bother. Poor beer selection, too.

(12,118 posts)They are just messing with you to see what you will say. We were very polite to the poor little dear waiting on us, hopefully she will escape unscathed.

(12,118 posts)They had a bout 5 interchangeable mass produced beers on tap plus one microbrew- lager. I asked our waitress (very young and nice) if they had any dark beers in bottles, she said great lakes dortmunder. I do like dortmunder gold, but I wanted a damn stout or porter or at least a red ale FFS. That was it, not even one dark beer, I am having water.

(10,237 posts)unfortunately some people like to get ripped off at shitty over priced restaurants. Some of them thrive for years which makes so little sense in this economy .All you can do is tell your friends -net restaurant reviews are pretty worthless unless you're familiar with a food critic.

(12,118 posts)Honestly, I appreciate well crafted food and drinks and don't mind paying for professional service. But to portray a hog trough as fine dining is just wrong. There are multiple little bars around this working class town with homemade soups, big fat burgers handmade & fresh on old fashioned buns for the price of a beer at that joint. All I can say is never again and I hope to help others to avoid wasting their hard earned cash there, too. (This is a working class town hard hit by the recession, they don't deserve to be ripped off like this)

(6,154 posts)without experiencing the same restaurant. Besides you kept the description all to the food which is usually what I'm looking for in a restaurant review, the only person you will hurt is the chef and let's face it if that's what the food is like the chef probably already knows

Add a positive note about the server. The superlatives are over the top (worst ever, doggie dishes, tiniest I've ever seen, chintzy, smallest I've ever seen, wtf, yuk) and there is no constructive criticism at all. This should be more objective and more constructive, I think.

(12,118 posts)I didn't even mention the owner walking around in dingy white shorts (not dirty from cooking just like he'd had them on for days) saying how was everything and continuing to walk thru not pausing to hear if anyone did have a comment. The bowls were exactly like my friends metal pet dishes, the tiny cups of dressing were about a teaspoon full maybe and my cole slaw was exactly 4 small bites it was not an exaggeration. We had to ask our dear little server 4 times to bring the side of potatoes that went with the ketchup ribs (she was nice, but really wasn't very good. She was trying and we appreciated the fact and tipped well)
Found out this morning the 2 had bouts of diarrhea overnite (they are batting .500 on that!)
