Random sh** that went through my head today
I was working on getting my Friday 3 hour class ready and so didn't read but a smattering of news yesterday. I was thinking about starting conversation in class by saying something about how its been an eventful week ... but I had nooooo idea until I turned on the news on the way to drop my wife off at her college.
The first thing that I thought of when they said that Watertown had been locked down and all the police and troops was "OMG! I can hear Alex Jones and Rush Limbaugh blubbering about the black helicopters and Homeland Security and the bullets, yada, yada, yada...(I forgot, can't use "yada,yada" or Seinfeld references anymore since Rand Paul is Seinfeld's new BF and uses Seinfeld to lecture black people about how slavery was good for them... LOL) or how that Kenyan Muslin in OUR white house planned the whole thing."
The college where I teach is about 40 miles away, so I had a while to listen to Mika on the satellite radio on the way to class. I hadn't even made it to the little town of Godley, Tx (yes, there IS a Godley, TX . . . and they have got the best brisket tacos at a little place there, Del Norte ... almost as good as the Czeck BBQ in West, TX, but that is another post ... Post is in west Texas, not West, Texas) before they had the whole freaking city of Beantown on lockdown.

I took a nap when I got in this afternoon and must have been a little loopy when I got up and Mrs. A was watching the latest on ABC News. All that we knew was that they had the guy in the back of somebody's boat and how this boat was his baby and he was real broken up about ... his boat ... and the bullet holes in his boat. I told my wife to just change to CNN, because Wolf has probably got the guy in custody and so we could skip all the drama.
Then we saw the K9 cops go by and I thought why?, from what I hear there are already dogs all over the freakin place. If they had just let people take there dogs out sooner ... and this guy climbs a ladder to look in his baby, er, his boat, and saw the guy in there.
then Diane Sawyer said "Martha will be here in a minute..." and she meant Martha Radditz, but the image that came in to my mind was THE Martha telling us how to get fresh eggs if we were ever trapped and bleeding to death in a boat in somebody's back yard. And how you could redecorate the interior of the boat to ....
And then Diane Sawyer says"we are going to bring in Dick Clark, and I thought "OMG! this is ridiculous - I thought he was dead (Dick Clark, not the guy in the boat with the wallpaper and fresh eggs), but it wasn't THAT Dick Clark ... and then there was John Miller, and that was almost believable, because my cousin John is a gun nut, but it wasn't THAT John Miller ...
it's just been a confusing day.
I think I'll go back to bed.
