He was a stray that just showed up - so we kept him (even though we were a dog family). We never got to see him as a kitty - which on the one hand is sad but on the other hand he is so darn cute as an adult (he is now 14) that seeing him in all his kitteh glory would have probably killed us with the cuteness.
