Actually, a mixture of baking soda and hydrogen peroxide.

I'll check it tonight to see if I got it. I'm not sure. It was very small and I needed a magnifying glass to see it.

than they do Elmer's Wood Glue. The wood glue has a tighter stretch to it, though, so it would be more likely to do the job.

I hadn't noticed it for two days and the skin had grown over it. Last night I could visibly see it with a magnifying glass. But this morning it wasn't so apparent. So I added anti-biotic and tonight I'll look at it again to see if I got it.

clean around it -use some hydrogen peroxide sparingly let dry and cover with elmers or wood glue...the glue sucks the splinter out so you don't have to act like a doctor. you can cover it with a band aid so you don't look at it .....this really really works and is painless.

Not even close to being the same as baking soda, unless you plan to bake some bread. Make a bit of a wet paste of the baking soda, apply and wait. Don't rush the process.

Peroxide works well. Or you can just let it fester and be pushed out on it's own, but that is a pain, literally.

Bad advice from my mom...."rub a little dirt o e it. It will be ok." But then I was six years old and I believed anything.

Oh, those old wive's tales. Don't hang your fingers out the car window or they will blow off. OR, don't cross your eyes...they will stick that way. So many of those, it would take me several days to remember them all.

from an old hard-wood floor. It was wedged in my heel and hurt like hell. I tried everything to get it out, but nothing worked. I was away from home at the time but as soon as I got home (about a week later), I went to the doctor who cut my heel open to get it out. OUCH.
