Opening excerpt from Van Gogh's Ear:
When Vincent sent his sheared-off ear
Off to the maid
What did it hear, I wonder,
When she opened up the morning mail?...
A scream? A sigh? A moaning wail?
Softly whispered words of loves devotion?
Did she hold it to her own ear
To hear the oceans roar?
And, hearing, seem to see bright stars
That spun and shined
Within the artists spinning shining half-mad mind?...

(1,054 posts)One: Just download a kindle reader to your computer! It's also FREE at http://www.kindle.com
and then you can either buy the book that way, or download it for free by becoming a Kindle Prime member.
Two: A paperbound print copy of BOTH books is also available at amazon.com; they cost more, but they came out pretty sweet if you ask me!

(72,300 posts)Both of my computers are older Dell's. The main one is a Windows Xp from 2001. I can't even update, all the programs I've found start with 2002. The laptop needs 'help'. It is crashing. I can take it back to the last safe spot in the computers memory but I'm not willing to push my luck. I'm buying a new Chrome. That will help solve my simple problems while my other ones are being addressed with help from my son-in-law. I'm going to guess that I can download a kindle reader into the Chrome.
