(41,694 posts)When Donna bought it in 1990 it was painted O.D. Green. I said I wore that color for 3 1/2 years and there's no way I'm living in it. I wanted to paint it purple but she wouldn't let me. The shed I built out back 10 years ago IS purple.

(72,300 posts)My neighbors would freak over a weird paint job.
My new Koi Pond is half way dug. I have all of the materials.

(36,649 posts)It got so loud & so bad that the wife stormed out and left (presumably to her mother's house - this was the early '70s). The husband proceeded to paint the house black - the sides, the trim, the gutters, the front door. Then when he was done doing that he painted the windows (including the glass), the fence in the front yard, then the shingles on the roof. Then he left too. A couple weeks later there was a For Sale sign in front. Never saw either of them again.

(17,055 posts)My sister got mad at a boyfriend once. She had made him his favorite duck dinner but he chose to stay at the bar and get blasted instead. Well, once he got home & passed out she took the cooked ducks outside and smeared them all over his truck and I mean everywhere inside & out. Duck grease everywhere. Then she skewered both ducks on his antenna.
Getting up to go to work the next morning he had quite the surprise.

(16,330 posts)pink Miami brick. We were known as the people in the pink house (although it was a softer pink, lol). I was a kid and couldn't change it.
When my husband and I moved into the house we're in now, it was bright yellow. UGLY bright yellow. Neighbors talked about the people in the yellow house.
It was changed to gray - and still is!!! I cannot torture my kids.

(17,055 posts)it gives a nice vibe.
Here in New England we usually keep things a little more bland, lol.

(16,330 posts)Miami brick is just a style of brick that's thinner and longer than regular brick.
This was the early 70s after all. Shag carpets, the whole nine yards.
