Question about tipping. Just curious. Distribution of tips.

How are tips usually distributed at a locally owned and operated upscale restaurant?
Not a chain restaurant.

I think our server doesn't pocket the entire tip.
Bus persons, bartenders, etc. share (I think).
How about chefs, kitchen staff, diswashers?
Do they get a cut?
And if so, in what proportion?
Is there a more-or-less 'standard' formula.

Thanks.
Just curious.
I wondered just how much of the tip our waitress actually pocketed.
