A source close to the North Korean regime reported that Supreme Leader Kim Jong-un is furious about the Windows 8 problems and is considering a number of options, including declaring war on Microsoft.

On any rational basis SB's unique lack of vision, negative charisma and rolling fiascos should have had him out the door years ago. Windows 8 is a worthy epithet for a guy who never had it in the first place. It's all the more unbelievable, since that I still think
Bill Gates is a brilliant, hard headed guy.

Developers, Developers, Developers? Hey guys, this is Metro. Forget .net; Reach out and touch the future. Better still, run out and write Android and iOS apps. Jeez.

before the release: The critics raved:

They hated Windows 8. Hated, hated, hated it. They hated the schizoid, shitty interface. Hated the spin. Hated the implied insult to Windows users that anyone would want to use it

More than a year of brickbats but Mr Ballmer knew better than all of them.
