Thank you all for being supportive and kind. I was told that he died in his wife's arms, surrounded by people who loved him.

(41,959 posts)You know, roads and deep water, those leaving and those left behind. How even the best tended fires flicker out, but their warmth gets rekindled in other hearths, if we're smart enough to be the ones who tend them and take away an ember or two.
