knew ahead of time what it meant? I love Kanji tattoos, but would never get one. I couldn't visit an Onsen (Public bath) in Japan wearing a tattoo. They don't like them, as they remind the owners of Yakuza. Yakuza or people with Tattoos are not welcome at an Onsen or Roten Buro. You would be escorted out with one. I would rather soak in bliss than be sitting on a step outside the Onsen.
