They're grape-sized watermelons that taste like cucumbers with a tinge of lime. And they're totally easy to grow.
They're native to Mexico and Central America. They also go by the following names: mouse melon, Mexican sour gherkin, Mexican miniature watermelon and Mexican sour cucumber.

(145 posts)Sounds perfect for summer smoothies but I wonder if they will grow in the pacific northwest. Gonna try it!
Edited: I just ordered some seeds and will cross my fingers on the germination since the reviews say there were some problems.

(93 posts)Do you have any idea how large the plants get? I couldn't tell from the web site. Also, do they give you the toots like normal cucumbers?

(17,742 posts)I thought they would taste like watermelons but a small version.
Somebody get to work on that stat! Mini melons. Not the so-called mini ones they have now that are still the size of a ... a ... geez, why isn't there a ball of the correct size I'm thinking of? Larger than a softball, smaller than a vollyball... what size is that? Anyway, grape-sized watermelons that taste like watermelon. Without seeds.
