Both new and used. Make sure you check the reputation of the seller before purchasing. You will find just about anything you want.

Having trouble finding that rare, out-of-print CD on eBay? Give Discogs a try. One of the Internet's best-kept secrets.

Hi,
Here I have all these mp3 on my laptop, got a cord to connect it to my stereo and the sound is so tinny sounding it is horrible. I am glad I never got rid of any CDs and am going to look at some little local used CD stores in town.

Peace

Also have a turntable that digitizes them. Since one side of an LP is 20 minutes, you can get 2 full albums on a CD that holds 80 minutes.

I did this with my Beethoven Early and Late String Quartets and a lot of other stuff as well.

I never liked Led Zep. Not back in '69, not now. Too much distortion. Too much screaming. And I agree with the sign that says "No Playing Stairway to Heaven" in the music store in "Wayne's World".

That is Brian May of Queen. Ph.D. physicist and rock star. He's pretty tasteful with his distortion.

That said, I always liked The Who and The Kinks for their bad attitudes. And Ray Davies for his better-than-Pete's songwriting.

I think Preservation Act II is far superior to Tommy and Quadrophenia. It's obscure. I'm NOT talking about Village Green Preservation Society.

But I digress. Brian May is one of my crushes. I always liked smart guys.

He's remarkably well preserved and still has that curly Isaac Newton hair!!

Speaking of your avatar, I had to play "Rock 'n' Roll Animal" for my daughter so she'd know what a really tight band sounded like.
Vinyl of course!

There was a YouTube video of the Lawrence Welk Show where Lou and VU guest starred but they were not shown, singing "I am searching for my mainline". (Sister Ray) The dancers were bouncing around to what they thought was waltz time. They didn't know they were listening to an ode to the problems of heroin addiction!!!

We were founded on music and will forever be music lovers.
We invite you to our new location where we happily sell new & used CDs, DVDs and LPs. And, if we don't have what you're looking for, as long as it's still in print, we can special order it. Also, look for T-shirts, Posters, Magazines and other cool gifts filling the shelves

New and used. LPs too. Other than that I have a small collection of independent metal distributors that ship me vinyl. I go to PACD first to support my local independent store and if they can't get something then I check online.

Buy, sell CDs, etc. This thread made me go check, and they are still alive. I figured Napster would have been the end of them.

On a side note, holy crap where does time go? Napster?

I try to hit a store called Vintage Stock, they have all the new cds coming out and they carry used ones as well at decent prices. If I know a cd is coming out soon I try to get it at Target as the price is a bit lower the first few days it is released. And of course, Pawn Shops/flea markets, sometimes the music selection sucks but at times you come across some great cd's for .25cents.

I bought two songs from Amazon but I don't know how to get them since I forgot my account name and created a new one.

I do love listening to music online, though, and my list of CD's to buy is just collecting dust on a shelf... or, on my Amazon WISH LIST.

I can't imagine leaving CD's behind though. I still have a little box of records but someone else took my record player. WISH I had the huge collection of records I had to part with 20 years ago.

Last FM and Pandora are great... don't forget Sirius Radio.

Only certain sellers are "fulfilled by Amazon" - i.e. eligible for free shipping - but I've gotten some good albums (Cure, Screaming Trees, Bob Mould) from them for a few bucks each.

Though I'm not old, I'm old fashioned I guess. I'm computer savvy, but Have no patience for endless downloads of stuff and burners, or watching movies on my PC. I buy mostly from Amazon or Ebay, and sometimes from a brick and mortar store if I want it right now. I do have Itunes, but just for listening while browsing sometimes.
